HER SOUNDTRACK
POEM.
🎵Aura suggestion: “Photograph" by Arcade Fire
Her.
It all starts with Her.
This room I’m sitting in is too loud.
Too many people, too many voices,
but her . . .
she steps in and the music starts.
Does She know? Can She hear it?
The music engulfs the room in a symphonic flood,
and I think they can hear it too. The people, the voices,
they’re SILENT,
but it’s an orchestra—
an explosion of sound that I’m hearing.
The piano builds up gradually, playing along
to her every step, as she walks so softly, slowly,
closer and closer to me —
MY HEART IS POUNDING!
It’s beating so fast, it’s a full on sprint!
And now, the piano’s lost control!
I swear I hear black and white ivory keys
somewhere out of sight going crazy to the beat!
Her.
Amidst the harmonic madness, the room is still.
Everyone is silent, watching Her.
The beautiful sound I hear
has surrounded Her and everything around Her.
Surely, GOD has composed this—
this song that caresses Her face so gently,
yet simultaneously, FILLS the room with a CRASH of percussion.
She’s reached my seat now. I’m breathless.
The piano s l o w s down . . . AND SPEEDS UP!
And I’m stuck.
Lost in this ocean of beauty and sound before me.
Her . . .
She leans down towards me. Those notes as
She did will play in my head for infinity (and beyond that).
*a peck*
She kissed me . . .
and the orchestra of piano, percussion and instruments ERUPTS uncontrollably!
And the people are gone. The world is gone.
Like a lucid dream, it’s just me
and Her—
and it’s perfect.
She’s perfect.
It’s all so. damn. perfect.
. . .
“Why are you always so extra, babe!”
bashfully demands my girlfriend
— (the grinning angel now standing before me).
“Shhh . . ." I smile, and whisper in a silly trance.
“Just let the music play, baby. Just let the music play . . .”
