DOWN, DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE: poem

Hello Reader,

What do I want to write about tonight?
Could it be something pretty?
Some well-thought romantic words
constructed into saturated pictures of love
that make you see what I see?

Nope, tonight I just wanna write.

Follow me, though?
Keep me company.

For this brain of mine
is a maze, crazy and erratic,
and if I’m being honest,
I’d much rather dip into this rabbit hole
with you, than to be dragged down alone.

You know: criss-crossed, tossed
left, right and around,
falling down, down, down
this loud chaotic tunnel
where dark conquers light
with no end in sight,
my anxiety punching my face the whole way,
and I cry, cause it hurts, but I don’t know why,
and try as I damn might,
I can’t make my brain QUIET!

So, please, just follow.
Tonight, I need you to read
and not expect anything from me.
