THE FOREST OF TOMORROW ENVELOPES THE ATOMS OF OUR SOULS

POEM — COLOR PROMPT #13

Lover Boy in Space
2 min readJun 28, 2022

I bask in trails of cinnamon embers and oxygen at your
Skirt side
You lovely green fireball from the cosmos
Jungle princess
Accompanied a wary foreigner into Él Dorado
Swam me under secret falls, sweet as sandía
Kissed my heart with tanged hips and lips
Singing, soothingly, songs adrip in your curious
Vibrations
I love you
My warrior of sol and waters
Mountain of Central American evergreens
You planted a sunrise inside me . . .
I’ve found I desire to climb more of tomorrow’s branches
And
Swing over this lush current with you
Hold your breath
Until the rainforest loses its very last species of lumber,
Would you marry me?
