ZOMBIELAND
POEM - COLOR PROMPT #2
Sadly, red is a color that loves to drip
The red once coursing, warmly, inside
intricate veins
to my abnormal heart is gone
Red reflections
of a zombie whose intentions were good
Oh, selfish thing, with your long-spoiled empathy . . .
LOOK at the damage—your doing!
Run now, please,
to the void you belong, Monster,
and forever thereafter, as briny streams polluted
by silt makeup the color of dried blood
drip
from her bloodshot eyes and cheeks –
until they drip no more, and
you are but a ghost in a youthful scary story
